How can I get the zip file default icon back for all my zip files? Its nice to be able to tell at a glance that it's a zip file. This will be the back up file that you can use to revert any changes in case of problems. Expand the CompressedFolder key and select the DefaultIcon key.

In the right side window, double click the Default value. Exit the registry editor and reboot the computer.
